Breyer Horse Painting



We are excited to announce that the Breyer Horse painting event has been scheduled for
Tuesday, December 18, 2012, 6:00p.m.at the REC (old building).

Paint a Breyer Mare and foal with a brushable mane and tail.
The cost is $10.00 per person and includes the horse painting kit and dinner.

Only 50 paint kits have been ordered, this event will fill quickly!

Trail Ride



State 4-H Trail Ride at Redden Forest
 
October 7, 2012 at the Headquarters tract at10:00a.m.
Fun Family event with riders of all ages and experience level.
Following the trail there will be a picnic in the pavilion at 11:30a.m.

ASTM/SEI hard hats are required for all riders.

Horse Judging

Wicomico Equestrian Center, Salisbury, Md.
Saturday, May 26, 2012, 8:30a.m.


Please be ready with a clipboard and pencil
at 8:30 am to judge a halter horse class.

When you arrive, check in at the food booth for
further directions.

Longaberger 4H basket drawing

 Ms. Carlene drew the winning ticket for the 4H Longaberger basket.

Congratulations to Ms. Cordell of the Clover Knights 4H Club for being the winner of the Longaberger 4H basket. Special thanks to everyone who supported my efforts to raise money for Changing Fates Equine Rescue.

Upcoming Events


Thursday, February 16 @ Carvel center, 7:00p.m.
East Coast 4-H Riding Club will host Mark Mowbray, AQHYA Regional Youth Director.
Mark will be speaking on the many opportunities of owning an American Quarter Horse.
He will discuss trail riding, games for equestrians, opportunities for youth with Quarter horses and the
Junior Master Horseman program.  All 4-H’ers are invited, if you own your own horse or are thinking
of purchasing your first horse. 

Horse bowl practices are each Thursday night until March 8th.  The State 4-H Horse Bowl is
Saturday, March 10.  East Coast teams will be participating.  Good luck!!

Delaware 4-H Equine Art Contest entries are due Friday, April 13 to the county 4-H office.
Rules and general information are on the 4-H website.

New Castle County 4-H has invited all 4-H’ers to a practice horse judging at Wellspring Farm at
Bellevue State Park.  The event will be held on Wednesday, May 2. Oral reasons will also be
practiced.  Times and directions will be announced soon.  A great opportunity to see great horses
and get experience judging horses.

Horse Bowl Meeting


The East Coast 4-H Riding club met on Thursday, Nov. 17 to discuss and organize the upcoming
4-H Horse Bowl teams.  Packets were made for younger team members and dates were selected
to begin practices in January.  The group chose to meet on Thursday nights beginning on January 5.
Anyone interested in participating in the State 4-H Horse Bowl in March can still sign up by calling
the 4-H office.
